Club History

 

In 1926 Old Scholars Week included a program of competition in tennis, hockey and basketball. Matches were arranged in tennis and hockey between town and country old scholars. From 1929 – 1933 MLC challenged St Peters Girls in hockey tennis and basketball.

 

An old scholars badminton team was formed in 1937 and also became part of os week.

 

From 1948 to 1958 tennis matches were played between present and past scholars.

 

Golf was started in 1933 and abandoned in 1940 but due to lack of participants, but revived in 1958  and continues to this day although now played with other Independent schools old scholars teams. Our team has won several times in the past few years.
